What is a GPO in Healthcare and Why Does it Matter?

GPO (Group Purchasing Organizations) are companies that negotiate better pricing for facilities, typically, based on usage. If your facility or practice uses any supplies from band aids to printer paper to surgical supplies, then you should have a GPO.  If you do not or you have the wrong GPO then you are losing money.  If your contracts are not updated regularly then you may be paying higher prices based on old usage information.  There are different GPOs for different segments of healthcare and Stim Healthcare can help you navigate the selection and contract management process.
